Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of plant supervision, heat treat material to meet departmental performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.
  • Accurately load, unload, and repackage product.
  • Fill out Heat Treat production, lab, and repackaging sheet(s) accurately and legibly.
  • Enter recipes for furnace cycles and identify problems with the furnace, responding to prompts and alarms.
  • Collect, distribute, and maintain samples as required.
  • Repackage materials using correct skids, coil orientations, clips, and banding placements.
  • Safe and proper use of a forklift to transport cranes and lifting devices.
  • Maintain proper fluid levels in the dip tank.
  • Inspect and rework coils after heat treat cycles are complete.
  • Change thermocouples.
  • Properly use leak detection equipment.
  • Perform burnouts in situations such as power outages.
  • Comply with all work rules and procedures.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Forklift Operator training.
  • Overhead crane operation experience.
  • Experience in using quality measuring tools such as micrometer.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other employees.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic reading skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six plus months related experience.
