Electronics Design Specialist Job Description

As an Electronics Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic systems and components for use within equipment or machinery. You will support other engineers in performing tasks when necessary and contribute to solving various problems of moderate scope and complexity. Working independently with some guidance, you will review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic systems and components for use within equipment or machinery
  • Support other engineers in performing tasks and contribute to solving problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Review and guide activities of more junior employees
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design and integrate electronic systems
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of electronic industry standards and best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and layout of multi-layered, high density, complex printed circuit boards
  • Experience in debug and repair of printed circuit boards and electromechanical devices
  • Experience in designing and integrating in cross-functional engineering teams
  • Knowledge of electronic industry standards and best practices
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with technical writing, including hardware design documents and proposals
  • Experience with software development in high and low-level programming languages
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog hardware description language
  • Secret clearance
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
