POSITION TITLE: Radiologic Imaging Specialist

OVERVIEW:

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in utilizing X-ray and various imaging technologies to generate high-quality images of patients' internal anatomy. This position emphasizes adherence to radiation safety protocols while ensuring the integrity and clarity of images for diagnostic purposes. The specialist is expected to perform a variety of technical tasks that require sound judgment, creativity, and initiative in applying ionizing radiation for medical evaluation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures to create precise images that aid healthcare providers in diagnosing medical conditions.
- Prepare imaging apparatus and assist patients in readiness for examinations.
- Ensure safety from radiation exposure for both patients and staff by implementing safety measures.
- Adhere to physician directives and established protocols during all imaging tasks.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all procedures performed.
- Process and develop imaging results promptly for review by medical professionals.
- Identify and report any equipment issues to the relevant personnel.
- Manage inventory of imaging supplies and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams regarding imaging processes and findings.
- Pursue continuous professional development through education and training opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related discipline.
- Valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and state licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Keen attention to detail and precision.
- Understanding of radiation safety standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in imaging software and electronic health record systems.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies.
