Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber to join our team at the State of Wisconsin. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat assigned patients with psychiatric conditions, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Conduct initial assessments and prescribe medications as determined by privileges granted by WMHI Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing psychiatric patients in an inpatient facility.
  • Participate in the management and care of patients, providing education and support as needed.
Requirements
  • License or eligible for license as an APNP with an emphasis in psychiatric/mental health by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Training and/or experience in psychiatric assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide patient education on psychiatric diagnoses and treatments.
  • Experience working with patients with mental health and substance use issues is preferred.
