Job Overview

Mechanical Estimator and Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Estimator and Project Manager to join our team at Pop-Up Talent. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for developing commercial mechanical estimates through unitized pricing and contract cost estimating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate bid specifications, drawings, and determine if the project is a good fit for our company
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare mechanical cost estimates on greenfield shell & TI projects
  • Actively manage budgets throughout the design phase and project
  • Develop and document logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities and apply these assumptions to takeoff tasks
  • Ensure the accuracy of cost estimates and communicate with GC's, sub-contractors, architects, and/or engineers to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements
  • Conduct reviews of documents for the development and pricing of value engineering opportunities

Requirements:

  • College degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Formal training and/or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical estimating experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Ability to prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information and specifications
  • Ability to professionally communicate project needs to assigned staff
