Project Safety Manager

Harder Mechanical Contractors is seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Manager to join our team. As a Project Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of construction projects, working closely with project management and field supervision to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing support in incident prevention, including inspecting job sites, equipment, and providing training to site employees
- Serving as the on-site Competent Person, conducting regular inspections of job sites, materials, and equipment
- Overseeing additional safety professionals assigned to the project
- Surveying job sites and providing advice and guidance to site superintendents and employees on safety protocols
- Investigating incidents to determine origin, root cause, and contributing factors, and preparing written evaluation reports
- Developing and implementing safety education programs, including daily and weekly Toolbox Talks, and providing site-specific training
- Consulting with technical specialists and program managers on changes in work processes and proposed methods to eliminate unnecessary risks and control hazardous conditions
- Providing employees and managers with training on recognizing hazards and performing jobs safely and effectively
- Developing Activity (Job) Hazard Analysis's for new major work processes or those with high injury/illness rates
- Conducting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments as needed
Requirements include:
- 10+ years of experience in construction safety
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Extensive knowledge of state and local laws and regulations, as well as OSHA standards
- Ability to pass security clearance investigation and applicable substance testing requirements
- OSHA 510 certifications and additional safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST
- Experience in the semi-conductor industry
