Job Summary

Vee-Jay Cement Contracting Co. Inc is seeking a highly skilled Material & Equipment Manager to oversee the overall management of the yard. This key role is responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement, warehousing, and distribution of materials, as well as the effective management of equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Equipment and Tool Management: Supervise, mentor, and coach yard personnel to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, and maintain a high level of equipment utilization.
  • Facilities Management: Work closely with the Cost team to ensure proper monthly billing for equipment and tools, and maintain effective communication with the Shop Manager to ensure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment.
  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor weekly and monthly inventory reports and analysis of usage to identify areas for improvement and implement new work processes where needed.
Requirements
  • Direct reports: 1st and 2nd Shift Yard Supervisors, Service Manager (Equipment Repair & Maintenance), and Warehouse Manager.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in procurement, inventory management, and facilities management.
