Business Banker Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate new business banking relationships and cross-sell existing clients within a portfolio, generally with customer annual revenue under $10 Million.
  • Grow deposits, loans, and fee income in a profitable manner.
  • Participate in business development activities, identify prospects, and create effective prospect lists.
  • Serve prospects and customers through a consultative selling, trusted advisor role.
  • Partner with other bank departments to identify appropriate products and services.
  • Participate in underwriting and documentation of credit.
  • Monitor loan portfolio for credit quality and report early warning signs of problem credits.
  • Assist the bank in achieving positive CRA metrics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years banking-related experience, preferably with lending experience in Commercial Banking or other relevant job experience.
  • 1-3 years Commercial Credit experience.
  • Basic understanding of business tax returns, profit and loss statements, personal financial statements.
  • Basic understanding of commercial credit risk.
  • Basic understanding of commercial loan, deposit, and TM products.
Working Environment:

Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exempt employees are expected to work as long as it takes to accomplish the goals and deliverables of the position; typically, a minimum of 40-45 hours per week.

Travel: Estimated 70% driving requirements.
