Role Overview: As an On-Chip Connectivity Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining the internal interconnect architecture, focusing on performance, power efficiency, and area requirements. Your expertise will encompass both coherent and non-coherent interconnects, as well as chiplet-to-chiplet connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and specify architecture from initial high-level exploration to detailed microarchitectural guidance.
- Design coherent and non-coherent interconnects, ensuring adherence to coherency protocols, directory structures, and performance targets.
- Evaluate and refine architectural designs to meet power, performance, area, and timing objectives.
- Collaborate with the Silicon team, including RTL/microarchitecture, DV, PD, Perf, and DFT, to ensure seamless integration.
- Contribute to the creation and review of validation plans for both functionality and performance.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of large-scale on-chip fabric or interconnect architecture.
- Familiarity with on-chip network protocols such as AMBA, AXI, CHI, ACE, Tilelink, or APB.
- Understanding of cache coherent memory systems and interconnect technologies.
- Experience with various on-chip network topologies including ring, mesh, and crossbar.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog or Verilog, C or C++, and scripting languages like Python.
- Experience with functional and performance simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of logic design principles, including timing and power considerations.
- Knowledge of low power architecture techniques and high-performance design trade-offs.
Education: A PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required. This position demands a senior level of experience, reflecting the leadership role in architecture development.
