SUMMARY:

The role of a Speech-Language Therapist involves working with students who have communication challenges, including language delays, articulation issues, stuttering, and voice disorders. These professionals play a crucial role in the educational environment, focusing on enhancing students' communication skills.


Salary Range:
$41, $77,875.35

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Speech-Language Therapist will:

  • Act as a resource for educational staff in creating a balanced program aimed at improving oral communication and speech.
  • Assist educators in identifying and referring students with suspected speech and language difficulties.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, and language challenges.
  • Implement regular screenings to identify students with speech impairments.
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals to community agencies and specialists.
  • Develop tailored therapy programs to address individual student needs and rectify speech or language issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to integrate therapy suggestions into daily student activities.
  • Provide guidance, support, and counseling to families when necessary.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee student activities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certification as a Speech Therapist is required.
