About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of English to join our faculty team at Jacksonville State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory to graduate-level literature and film courses, as well as First-Year Writing and speech, according to department practice and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses in literature and film studies, including introductory and graduate-level courses
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental goals and objectives
  • Conduct scholarly research and publish in reputable academic journals
  • Engage in service to the department, college, and university
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in English or a related field by the appointment date
  • Ability to teach composition and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential
