Senior Protection and Control Relay Technician

Technical Diagnostic Services (TDS), a TechPro Power Group company, is seeking an experienced Senior Protection and Control Relay Technician to join our team in supporting Brownfield Substation projects throughout a 3-4 State area.
Key Responsibilities- Perform protective relay testing using Enoserv RTS software.
- Upload and download relay and meter settings and test results.
- Make manual setting adjustments and verifications of electro-mechanical relays.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator/Commissioning Engineer with technical job functions.
- Conduct relay panel point-to-point wiring checks, functional checks, alarm verifications, and other testing involved in substation control systems.
- Set up and coordinate SCADA, station annunciator, and network communication devices.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator in technical oversight and documentation plans.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator with documentation uploads and completion of project work binder.
- Lead projects in the absence of the Start-Up Coordinator.
- Strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution level Protective Relay testing and testing schemes.
- Leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to safety.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools, including the Doble 6150 set.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent.
- Level III/IV NETA or NICET Certification.

- Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods.
