About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
The Family Nurse Practitioner provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization. This includes assessing patients' conditions, developing plans of care, and implementing interventions to meet their physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs. The nurse also facilitates coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team and provides patient education to ensure safe patient discharge.
Responsibilities and Skills
The Family Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service by coordinating and taking action on any requirements not met. Additionally, they develop a plan of care based on assessment that reflects the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs. The nurse assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the patient's needs. They also identify early warning signs of a change in a patient's condition and respond appropriately, reporting pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate multidisciplinary team member and recording those observations accurately and concisely.
Certifications and Qualifications
The ideal candidate must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of North Dakota or a Compact State Agreement. They should also have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Temporary RN licenses and ND RN Graduate Work Authorization may be considered prior to start date. The nurse must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
The Family Nurse Practitioner will work primarily indoors in a clinical setting, with occasional exposure to moderate temperatures. They may also be required to lift up to 40 pounds, push/pull objects, and slide/transfer patients as needed. As this is an infrequent driver position, driving responsibilities are minimal.
