Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to work in a premier private clinical laboratory in Mobile, AL. This is a full-time position working the day shift, Monday through Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing microscopic evaluations of cytology specimens, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples, to detect abnormal cells. They will also prepare and process cytology specimens using various staining techniques and methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough microscopic evaluations of cytology specimens.
- Prepare and process cytology specimens using standardized techniques.
- Accurately document findings and ensure timely reporting of results to pathologists and clinicians.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure accurate and efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or related field from an accredited program.
- ASCP certification or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical cytology laboratory preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
