The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced endocrine surgeon to serve as the Division Chief of Endocrine Surgery.

The ideal candidate will possess a distinguished academic career, including a leadership role within a multifaceted academic endocrine surgery division.

The new chief will have a highly regarded clinical background, with a track record of scholarly achievements and peer-reviewed publications.

Applicant must be Board Certified in General Surgery and be eligible for a Texas Medical License.

The Division is composed of 5 faculty surgeons and has a Texas Medical Board approved endocrine surgery fellowship program.

The Division has provided 3,485 outpatient visits and performed 994 OR cases in the past year.

UT Southwestern, one of the premier academic medical centers in the nation, integrates pioneering biomedical research with exceptional clinical care and education.

The institution's faculty has received six Nobel Prizes and includes 25 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 17 members of the National Academy of Medicine, and 13 Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigators.

The full-time faculty of more than 2,800 is responsible for groundbreaking medical advances and is committed to translating science-driven research quickly to new clinical treatments.

UT Southwestern physicians provide care in about 80 specialties to more than 117,000 hospitalized patients, more than 360,000 emergency room cases, and oversee nearly 3 million outpatient visits a year.

Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
