Key Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and analyzes claim notifications, legal documents, contracts, and insurance policies to confirm coverage, deductibles, and the legitimacy of claims.
  • Establishes prompt communication with policyholders and claimants to clarify the claims process.
  • Collaborates with necessary professionals to address urgent issues, including initial remediation, temporary restoration, and preservation of evidence.
  • Records claim activities, reserve evaluations, and report summaries in the claims management system.
  • Sets appropriate reserves in accordance with company guidelines and methodologies.
  • Evaluates financial documents such as profit and loss statements and payroll records to determine business income loss.
  • Obtains all required official documentation and claim forms.
  • Addresses coverage inquiries and resolves disputes regarding repair methods and claim valuations.
  • Prepares and dispatches reservation of rights and denial correspondence with managerial approval.
  • Investigates loss causes and generates detailed repair cost estimates, reconciling discrepancies between findings and software-generated estimates.
  • Provides timely and comprehensive updates to agents, policyholders, and claimants regarding claim statuses.
  • Drafts and issues settlement agreements and ensures timely payments, including loss statements and proof of loss, while verifying compliance and accuracy.
  • Reviews and audits property estimates prepared by independent adjusters and contractors for precision and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years in property claims adjustment.
  • Preferred relevant insurance certifications.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Thorough understanding of claims processes and practices.
  • Strong grasp of insurance contracts, legal terminology, and applicable laws.
  • Proficient in computer systems and claims management software.
  • Ability to secure all necessary state licenses.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent investigative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Occasional travel may be required; a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is necessary if driving.
**In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position for Colorado-based employees is $82,000 to $106,000. Salary ranges for other locations may differ.**
