Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Clackamas, Oregon.

In this role, under general supervision and in collaboration with the healthcare team, you will utilize your clinical judgment to assess and address human responses to actual or potential health issues.

The RN will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.
  • Coordinating nursing care activities with other healthcare professionals.

Assessment Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational needs, and discharge planning requirements.

Planning Responsibilities:
  • Develop individualized nursing care plans sensitive to patient developmental needs.
  • Coordinate patient care and discharge planning with various departments and community agencies.
  • Create and document patient teaching plans.
  • Delegate patient care activities appropriately based on patient condition and the scope of practice of other healthcare providers.
  • Establish priorities for patient care.

Implementation Responsibilities:
  • Initiate measures based on established protocols for managing medical and surgical patients.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with protocols specific to each patient.
  • Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR) following policy and procedure.

Evaluation Responsibilities:
  • Assess the effectiveness of assessment methods, care plans, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Engage in unit quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of recent experience in ICU critical care with demonstrated expertise.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided) required at hire.
  • Proficient computer keyboarding skills.
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of recent ICU nursing experience is highly desirable.
