Position Overview

As an Event Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the setup and maintenance of performance spaces for various productions, concerts, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment and materials from transport vehicles.
  • Set up and configure lighting and audio systems.
  • Prepare and arrange road cases for events.
  • Operate spotlights during performances.
  • Assemble risers and musical instruments.
  • Support video, sound, and lighting production efforts.
  • Collaborate with electricians and lighting designers to achieve desired effects.
  • Assist carpenters in constructing and installing stage scenery.
  • Manage fly rail operations and load weights accordingly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of stage and backstage areas.
  • Run cabling and secure tape-out for events.
  • Operate sound, lighting, and video control boards and equipment.
  • Serve as part of the run crew for productions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical stamina to work extended hours.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to navigate steps and ramps frequently.
  • Willingness to stand for prolonged periods in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in bending, stretching, reaching, and kneeling as required.
  • Experience working at heights and using ladders safely.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Familiarity with stage directions and venue terminology.
  • Experience with electrical equipment and power tools.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to the industry.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
