The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain in Wilmington, VT is seeking Certified Ski/Snowboard Instructors to join our team for the upcoming winter season. A minimum 10-day commitment, competitive compensation, and flexible scheduling are offered.
Compensation and Benefits- Base Rates: $22.00/hr - Level 1, $35.00/hr - Level 2, $50.00/hr - Level 3, $55.00/hr - PSIA-AASI Development Teams, $60.00/hr - PSIA-AASI Examiner, + Additional base rate incentives for specialist certifications and multi-discipline certified instructors.
- 15% Auto-Gratuity for all lessons.
The Hermitage Club is a 501.c7 non-profit private social club and ski area. We value skilled instructors who share our vision of creating a lifelong passion for skiing and snowboarding.
Lesson Programs- Mountain Yeti's Seasonal Program for ages 3-6
- Mountain Explorers Seasonal Program for ages 7-12
- Daily Private and Group Lessons for all ages and abilities
- Adaptive Private Lessons
- Race Programs
- Ski/Snowboard at an Intermediate/Advanced level.
- Provide care and supervision for individuals and groups of students.
- Develop lesson plans for individuals and groups of students in a collaborative environment.
- Provide a learning environment that is safe and fun utilizing various teaching methods, techniques, and demonstrations in a variety of weather conditions.
- Clearly and accurately provide instruction and feedback using verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Develop relationships with students based on trust and two-way communication.
- Follow and implement policies and procedures of the Hermitage Club.
- Remain up to date with current trends within the teaching/coaching community.
- Participate in professional development training.
- Assist with roles and responsibilities required to perform the duties of the Ski and Snowboard School, including setting fences, turning targets, gates, and moving ski/racks.
- Required to be an active PSIA-AASI and/or USSA certified instructor and must provide proof of certification and active status.
- Required to pass a background check and work with children.
- Required to be fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Required to be able to communicate effectively to groups, individuals, guests, and co-workers.
- Required to work well in a team environment.
- Required to work weekends and holidays.
- Required to be willing to adhere to Hermitage Members Club policy for wearing an approved helmet at all times while teaching in terrain parks and trees.
- Required to be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, and ski/snowboard for extended periods of time.
- Required to be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds periodically, and up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Required to work and teach effectively outside in inclement weather in a winter alpine environment.
