About The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain

We are seeking a skilled Ski/Snowboard Instructor to join our team for the upcoming winter season. As a Ski/Snowboard Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching individuals and groups of students in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and supervision for individuals and groups of students.
  • Develop lesson plans for individuals and groups of students.
  • Provide a learning environment that is safe and fun utilizing various teaching methods, techniques, and demonstrations in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Clearly and accurately provide instruction and feedback using verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Develop relationships with students based on trust and two-way communication.
  • Follow and implement policies and procedures of The Hermitage Club.
  • Remain up to date with current trends within the teaching/coaching community.
  • Participate in professional development training.
  • Assist with roles and responsibilities required to perform the duties of the Ski and Snowboard School.

Requirements:

  • Required to pass a background check and work with children.
  • Required to be fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Required to be able to communicate effectively to groups, individuals, guests, and co-workers.
  • Required to work well in a team environment.
  • Required to work weekends and holidays.
  • Required to be willing to adhere to The Hermitage Club policy for wearing an approved helmet at all times while teaching in terrain parks and trees.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Required to be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, and ski/snowboard for extended periods of time.
  • Required to be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds periodically, and up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Required to work and teach effectively outside in inclement weather in a winter alpine environment.
