Junior Reinsurance Specialist

Contract to Hire

Position Overview:
As a Junior Reinsurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the reinsurance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in various processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly cession statements for ceded reinsurance activities, identifying and resolving discrepancies in assigned accounts.
  • Conduct quarterly collateral reconciliations for regulatory filings, ensuring compliance and minimizing penalty exposure.
  • Manage daily collateral activities, facilitating effective communication with clients regarding Letters of Credit and Trust accounts.
  • Maintain and update collateral inventory, ensuring alignment with financial reports and supporting documentation.
  • Generate reports and reconciliations, delivering timely information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Technical Accounting functions, including cash processing and invoicing, while collaborating with international teams.
  • Assist in audit management, ensuring timely delivery of necessary documentation to auditors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient multitasking capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Solid research and analytical skills, with a focus on financial reconciliation.
  • Strong customer service orientation and results-driven approach.
Essential Knowledge:
  • Understanding of reinsurance principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes.
  • Knowledge of Schedule F filing requirements.
