Position Overview

The Mechanical Plumbing Modeler is an integral member of our US-based Production team, which includes Modelers, Engineers, BIM Coordinators, and Estimators. This team is responsible for guiding projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a process-oriented mindset, and a high proficiency in technology-driven platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industrial Plumbing Modeling: Create comprehensive BIM models for industrial plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with client specifications and project guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Engage with engineering, construction, and design teams to produce accurate and coordinated models.
  • Design & Build Support: Assist in Design & Build, Plan & Spec, and Tenant Improvement projects by developing and refining BIM models that align with project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of models to ensure adherence to industry standards and client quality expectations.
  • Trade Coordination: Work alongside HVAC, control systems, and other relevant trades to integrate plumbing systems into comprehensive building models.
  • Onsite Assistance: Provide BIM support on-site, making updates and adjustments to models based on real-time feedback and project developments.
  • Documentation: Generate detailed documentation and deliverables from BIM models, including shop drawings, schedules, and material lists.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all models meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Software Expertise: Utilize BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks to create and manage 3D models, perform clash detection, and enhance workflows.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and address challenges that arise during the modeling process, providing effective solutions to maintain project momentum.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in BIM, specifically focusing on industrial plumbing modeling.
  • Education: A degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM tools.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industrial plumbing systems, including design principles, installation techniques, and code compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
