Structures Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Structures Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Impulse Space. As a key member of our spacecraft manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of metallic and composite structures for our spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities- Metallic Fabrication: Perform assembly work on metallic structures, including drilling, bolting, applying safety wire, and installing bushings.
- Composites Assembly: Assemble composite structures, including hand trimming, adhesive bonding, and fastener and insert installation.
- Composites Lamination: Perform composites lamination work, including filament winding, vacuum bagging, oven curing, and tool preparation.
- Cleaning and Preparation: Perform cleaning operations on metallic and composite structures using solvents.
- Hardware Integration: Interface with engineering to identify work instructions and recommend engineering improvements.
- Tool Operation: Operate cutting machines for composites raw materials and cured flat panels.
- Surface Preparation: Apply coatings, sealants, adhesives, and primers to surfaces for surface protection and bonding.
- Hardware Repair: Perform hardware repairs, including removing fasteners, upsizing holes, removals, and thread chasing.
- Tube Fabrication: Perform tube fabrication operations, including cutting, bending, flaring, proofing, and assembly of seals and fittings.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on hardware manufacturing experience in a production environment.
- Drilling and Reaming: Experience with drilling, reaming, countersinking tight-tolerance holes using electric or pneumatic tools.
- Composites Lamination: Experience with composites lamination, vacuum bagging, and assembly work.
- Reading and Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints, including understanding drawing symbols, flag notes, and section views.
- Hardware Integration: Experience with hardware integration, including avionics, propulsion systems, pneumatics, and final clean.
- Structural Assembly: 5+ years of demonstrated experience with structural assembly work on rockets, launch vehicles, or spacecraft.
