- Maintain constant visual supervision of dogs, ensuring equitable attention and interaction.
- Implement dog management protocols to regulate play levels and maintain a safe environment.
- Employ proper dog handling techniques as per training guidelines.
- Conduct introductions for new dogs following established procedures.
- Utilize effective praise and correction methods to guide dog behavior.
- Familiarize yourself with all dogs in the playgroup, ensuring proper identification.
- Monitor new dogs closely and report any concerns to management.
- Document and report any unusual behaviors or incidents promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness in play areas according to established checklists.
- Ensure smooth transitions during staff breaks and shift changes by communicating essential information about the dogs.
- Complete incident reports as necessary, consulting management for guidance.
- Oversee the training and development of daycare and boarding staff.
- Provide clear direction to employees to ensure tasks are completed efficiently while maintaining adequate coverage.
- Manage employee scheduling to ensure proper staffing levels during all operational hours.
- Monitor employee attendance and breaks to comply with legal requirements.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or concerns among staff and customers.
- Collaborate with the Pet Services Manager to address performance issues and document them appropriately.
- Communicate goals and expectations to daycare and boarding staff regarding promotions and events.
- Lead by example to foster a positive experience for both customers and pets.
- Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Promptly clean up any waste or accidents and dispose of it properly.
- Dust mop and wet mop floors as required.
- Empty trash receptacles regularly.
- Disinfect outdoor areas to maintain hygiene.
- Handle laundry duties, including changing and washing bedding.
- Ensure kennels are clean and free from waste and hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness of water bowls, toys, and other equipment.
- Welcome customers and assist with bringing dogs into the playroom.
- Process payments as needed.
- Track dog attendance when necessary.
- Answer phone inquiries as required.
- Perform other general office tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Previous managerial experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated reliability in previous roles.
- Experience in animal care, whether personal or professional.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to follow instructions and adapt to new tasks.
- Flexibility and effective coping skills in a dynamic environment.
