Patient Transportation Coordinator

ClearSky Health is committed to providing exceptional patient care and transportation services. We are seeking a skilled Patient Transportation Coordinator to join our team.
We offer a competitive salary of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, to ensure that our employees can provide for themselves and their families while focusing on delivering the highest level of patient care.
Job Description:
The Patient Transportation Coordinator is responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently to various appointments, clinics, and hospitals. This critical role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Transport patients in a safe and professional manner
- Maintain vehicles in clean and working order, adhering to strict sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff to receive relevant data and instructions
- Inspect vehicles daily to ensure safety and comfort for patients
- Assist with transferring and balancing patients, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being
- Familiarize yourself with patient safety and vehicle safety protocols, applying Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary
- Notify hospital staff promptly of any changes in patient condition or behavior
- Work in various weather conditions and staffing emergencies, demonstrating adaptability and resilience
- Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality, ensuring seamless operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization's overall effectiveness
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A Basic Life Support/CPR card
- Six months of van transport experience (preferable)
Licenses, Certifications, and Documentation:
- Hold an acceptable driving record, current class-specific driver's license, and insurability
- Meet the standards of the Transportation Policy regarding driving records
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate proficiency in using equipment and tools relevant to the position
- Cultivate critical thinking skills to address complex situations
- Maintain quality, Infection Prevention, and safety standards
- Showcase ability to maintain confidentiality
- Exhibit effective organizational and time management skills
- Employ clear written and verbal communication skills, displaying empathy and understanding
Physical Demands:
- Significant sitting, driving, and reaching periods, often prolonged
- Gross and precise motor functions
- Lifting/exerting up to 50 lbs
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear overhead pages
