POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nighttime Housekeeping Supervisor is accountable for the strategic planning, organization, and management of the evening operations within the Housekeeping department.

This role collaborates closely with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper to prioritize tasks and develop/implement standard operating procedures while adhering to budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will be organized, possess strong communication skills, and be adept at multitasking. It is essential to foster a safe environment for team members, guests, and residents.

All policies and procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook and Department Standard Operating Procedures must be strictly followed.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are essential, though additional responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Oversee and direct the activities of evening housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety protocols regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Enforce company and departmental policies through performance evaluations, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain the condition and use of supplies and equipment, conducting regular inspections of public areas and guest rooms for cleanliness, order, safety, and proper execution of duties.
  • Manage inventory levels of guest amenities, cleaning supplies, linens, and uniforms.
  • Enhance customer service by assisting guests with inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Regularly inspect assigned areas and ensure that housekeeping checklists are completed for rooms.
  • Report any maintenance concerns in guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Ensure guests receive prompt, efficient, and personalized service.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Exhibit regular and dependable attendance.
  • Maintain effective communication through the chain of command for information transfer and reporting.
  • Foster a positive and unified team atmosphere.
  • Participate in scheduled training sessions and departmental meetings as required.
  • Implement safe work practices in all job functions.
  • Keep immediate supervisors informed of any significant issues and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Cultivate a cooperative and harmonious working environment with all team members and suppliers to maximize morale and productivity.
  • Perform all duties efficiently and in accordance with established company policies to meet the overall objectives of the role.
  • Uphold professional standards at The Greenbrier, including appearance, communication, and interactions with guests and team members. Confidential matters should not be discussed with colleagues or guests.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the Director of Department or Executive Management Team.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education and Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping.
  • Degree in Hospitality or a related field, or equivalent experience in a comparable establishment.
  • Experience managing a union workforce is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and chemical safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate.
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays.
