Job Description

The X-ray Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality radiographs following CityMD X-ray protocols, procedures, and Department of Health regulatory compliance in an efficient and accurate manner. The role involves performing common X-ray studies in a reasonable amount of time, including chest X-rays, extremity X-rays, spinal X-rays, and abdomen X-rays. The X-ray Technologist must properly document X-ray studies performed and facilitate communication between the provider and radiologist using internal X-ray and care coordination software. Additionally, the role requires keeping accurate records of QC logbooks, troubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions, and assisting with patient flow and communication between clinical staff members. The X-ray Technologist must also perform vital signs and document results in the EMR, assist with CLIA waived tests, EKGs, splints, sling placement, and proper use of crutches, and maintain the cleanliness of the site.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program and preferably 4-6 months of previous experience in the field. Strong communication skills are essential to provide clear instructions to patients on the process of procedures performed. The ability to perform basic X-rays, position patients, adjust restriction devices and equipment, determine patient X-ray needs, and use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure is also required. Flexibility with a full-time work schedule, including weekends, is necessary. The candidate must have strong aptitude for detail, organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team of healthcare professionals. Bilingual language skills are required or preferred based on-site location, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at time of hire.
