Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team in the County of San Bernardino, CA. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care to patients, including vital sign collection, blood and specimen collection, and medication administration.
  • Assist physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare specialists in the treatment and care of patients.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse license with the State of California.
  • One year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may be required to assist after normal duty hours in emergency situations.
Working Conditions

This position requires travel throughout the county, including locations such as the High Desert Detention Center, Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center, and Central Detention Center.

Incumbents will be required to respond immediately to emergencies while on duty, which may involve hostile and volatile wards and inmates.

Working conditions involve exposure to hazardous and infectious materials and communicable diseases.
