Position Overview
As a Pipeline Operations Coordinator, you will oversee and execute pipeline activities and maintenance initiatives to support various operational aspects including plant, pipeline, corrosion, measurement, controls, and project management. The role offers competitive compensation aligned with your experience and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of mobilizing, operating, and maintaining heavy excavation machinery, including hydrovac trucks and dozers, particularly on active natural gas pipelines.
- Operate large transport vehicles for the delivery of heavy equipment and materials to work sites.
- Engage in daily tasks such as operating heavy machinery, excavating pipelines, assisting with pipe replacements, and conducting pigging operations.
- Develop work plans and supervise contractor teams performing maintenance on company assets.
- Report to a Pipeline Support Crew Lead to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Execute coating removal and surface preparation, applying specialized coating systems.
- Install repair systems on loaded pipelines and perform excavation observation tasks.
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance on mainline isolation valves.
- Launch and monitor pipeline pigs, developing effective pigging strategies.
- Perform internal cleaning operations and calibrate inspection equipment.
- Design and review pressure testing plans in accordance with specifications.
- Utilize pipeline locating equipment to accurately mark pipeline locations.
- Prepare pipelines for repairs and coordinate segment replacements.
- Operate gas and air compressors, as well as perform basic cutting and welding tasks.
Qualifications:
Industry-related experience is preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Ability to operate hydrovac trucks and excavate high-pressure pipelines.
- Experience with heavy equipment in challenging terrains.
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid CDL within six months of hire.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints for pipeline projects.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations, ensuring responsible task execution.
- Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Basic computer proficiency and mathematical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with the capacity to exert up to 100 lbs of force. The role involves standing, walking, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions.
Work Environment:
This position requires a flexible work schedule, including potential overtime and travel. Candidates must be prepared for overnight stays and respond to emergency calls as needed.
The successful candidate will undergo a DOT drug screening and a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
