Uintah County UT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Attorney I, II, or III to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors in justice, juvenile, and district courts. This includes receiving case reports, examining evidence, and determining charges and pursuit of prosecution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prosecutes felonies and misdemeanors in justice, juvenile, and district courts
  • Receives case reports, examines evidence, and determines charges and pursuit of prosecution
  • Prepares and tries litigations against persons or organizations arising out of criminal activities
  • Interviews victims, witnesses, and law enforcement officers
  • Prepares writs, subpoenas, motions, and other legal documents
  • Submits regular reports to apprise supervisor of status of assigned cases
  • Participates in day-to-day public relations functions for the department
  • Responds to media inquiries regarding cases
  • Assists in the development of administrative procedures for county departments and agencies

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate Degree
  • One year of experience as a practicing attorney, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eligibility to practice law in the State of Utah within 6 months of the hiring date
  • Acceptance to Utah State Bar within 6 months of the hiring date

$102,000-$135,678 a year depending on experience
