Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team for the school year. This onsite position involves working with high school students (grades 9-12) and provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
- Liaison Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of 10 students, serving as their primary contact for educational and behavioral support.
- IEP Development and Implementation: Chair annual reviews and reconvene meetings, write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and report on IEP goals and progress.
- Behavioral and Emotional Support: Implement and oversee programs addressing both internalized and externalized behavioral issues.
- Classroom Support: Work with a teaching assistant in every class to support students and ensure effective instruction.
- Class Size Management: Manage small class sizes, with each class containing fewer than 12 students, to provide individualized attention.
- Active Certification: Must hold a valid Special Education Teaching License in Massachusetts.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with high school students, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and effective strategies for supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Background Checks: Successful completion of a CORI search and fingerprinting is required.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with a team of educators, support staff, and families.
