Position Overview: The Head Culinary Specialist is accountable for executing all aspects of the KCARC food service program, focusing on food preparation and kitchen sanitation. This role reflects KCARC's mission to advocate for and provide dignified opportunities for the well-being of individuals and families with special needs.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A certificate or diploma from ServSafe is mandatory. Additionally, a minimum of one year of experience in institutional food service management is required. Experience in food purchasing and preparation for a group home setting is also acceptable.

Certifications:

ServSafe Certification is required.

CPR and First Aid certification are also necessary.

Physical Requirements:

This position is highly active and requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, turn, kneel, and stoop throughout the day. Repetitive motions are essential to the role. The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully fulfill the essential duties of this position.

Work Environment:

While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee may occasionally encounter fumes, airborne particles, and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but can occasionally be loud. Personal Protective Equipment, such as vinyl or latex gloves, may be required at times.
