Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technologist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and evaluate care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
  • Keep the Perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.
  • Identify more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs.
  • Prioritize procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.
  • Plan for surgical procedure based on identified needs of surgeon and patient, implementing intervention for identified patient problems as related to surgical procedure and patient needs.
  • Utilize appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.
  • Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.
  • Participate in identifying cost containment activities. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.
  • Two years multispecialty experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in at least one service line and have the ability to float to other service lines, as needed.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
