Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the surgical team, responsible for providing technical support during operative procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical techniques and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare for surgical procedures by setting up equipment and ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Evaluate patient plans of care and contribute to overall unit efficiency, safety, and workflow.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, or 1 year of experience with a CST certification.
  • BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist work experience.
  • CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification.

Physical Demands and Environment

This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The working environment is typical of a moderate noise level, with occasional exposure to laser vision/vision screening and infectious and contagious diseases.
