Job Title: Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - C2BMC

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of experts in the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations.

Job Summary:

The Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects. This role requires flexibility and the ability to support various tasks on short notice. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Systems Engineering Lead and multiple product owners, interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review Interface Control Documents, System/Subsystem Requirements, and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development.
  • Author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
  • Act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis.
  • Participate in Agile development, including iteration planning, status, and agile team leadership.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, Trade Studies, Specifications, Architecture Descriptions, etc.).
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense.
  • Experience in mission analysis and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.
