The Association of Directors of Anatomic and Surgical Pathology is in search of several enthusiastic academic physician-educators and researchers to enhance clinical, educational, and innovative initiatives in surgical pathology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Series.

Responsibilities will primarily focus on surgical pathology.

Teaching responsibilities may encompass clinical instruction, didactic sessions, and small group facilitation for residents and medical students, as well as interdisciplinary conferences for residents and faculty, along with curriculum development in specialized areas.

A minimum of one year of experience in teaching undergraduates, graduate students, medical students, or residents is essential.

Engagement in the research objectives of the institution is anticipated, either as a collaborator or as the intellectual leader of clinically-focused research projects relevant to the candidate's areas of expertise and subspecialty training, depending on the academic series selected for appointment.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a high standard of service, work collaboratively and collegially within a diverse environment, and exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills to foster and sustain strong relationships with medical and technical staff, trainees, and others.

Candidates must possess an MD or MD/PhD and be board-eligible or certified in anatomic pathology.

Applicants should have two to five years of experience in a clinical or academic environment that includes clinical care, teaching, and research that aligns with the qualifications for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in one of the University of California's clinically-intensive academic series [Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series].

Completion of a subspecialty fellowship is required. A subspecialty focus is necessary.

Areas of expertise such as head and neck pathology, endocrine pathology, gynecologic pathology, breast/thoracic pathology, pediatric pathology, and cytopathology are highly sought after; however, other subspecialty areas will also be considered.

Additional desirable qualifications include training and proficiency in informatics, molecular-anatomic, and/or quality improvement.
A California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California is mandatory.
