ICF International Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to support the growth of our expanding Regulatory, Policy and Economics practice, with a focus on natural resources and environmental policy and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day project activities, applying subject matter expertise and thought leadership to analyze the effects and costs and benefits of policies and regulations affecting various areas including health, labor markets, environment, natural resources, immigration, transportation, and others.
- Develop business by making substantive contributions to sales and proposals efforts on key client accounts and identified leads, engaging in capture, bid and proposal processes, and assisting with developing compelling technical solutions for client audiences.
- Grow the team by mentoring and coaching junior staff, monitoring workload, providing guidance, ensuring quality work products, and high levels of employee engagement.
- PhD in public policy, economics, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated expertise in economic and regulatory analyses in one or more domestic US policy areas, such as the environment, natural resources management, health, and safety.
- Experience working on programs or projects related to environment, natural resources management, health, and safety.
- Demonstrated project and people leadership experience.
- Strong technical project management and financial project management acumen.
- As this is a client-facing role, strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated success delivering policy solutions to clients in a professional services/consulting setting or within a federal agency setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the federal government rulemaking process.
- Experience using R (preferred) or other structured programming language for data analysis.
- Positive, pragmatic, and collaborative style, with an ability to generate enthusiasm, train, and develop others, and be innovative in accomplishing goals in a large, complex, multi-cultural, and matrix environment.
