Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Housing Case Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory. As a key member of our Housing Program, you will play a vital role in assisting clients living in our housing units to access external resources, maintain housing stability, and successfully transition into permanent housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client interviews and case management to determine eligibility for programs and provide referrals.
  • Maintain accurate statistics and client files, ensuring compliance with TSA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in office and department meetings, committees, and community meetings to stay informed and network with other service providers.
  • Function as a resource to clients, providing referral information and evaluation services to support their housing needs.
  • Assist clients with direct assistance, such as food shelf access and voucher distribution.
  • Network with community resources to help meet clients' additional needs, including bus tokens, First Call for Help, and Hennepin County services.
  • Develop and implement case plans to maintain and improve clients' housing situations, ensuring their health and safety.
  • Input client information into Service Point and communicate unit requirements and policy changes to staff.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all client interactions and maintain accurate case notes.
  • Provide crisis intervention assistance and make home visits as needed.
  • Participate in educational opportunities and maintain a positive work atmosphere by promoting good relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, and experience working as a case worker, advocate, or resident assistant. Must have a good understanding of social services, community resources, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army and possess a valid MN driver's license without restrictions.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a salary of $22.50 per hour. The working conditions are generally safe and pleasant, with occasional emotional distress or turmoil due to varying situations with and between staff and/or clients.
