Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will be based in our office and involves key responsibilities in managing purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and recommend optimal solutions for the company regarding cost, scheduling, and commercial arrangements.
2. Solicit and evaluate bids for fabricated materials, mechanical equipment, and bulk commodities.
3. Analyze and recommend the most responsive proposals based on bid documents.
4. Negotiate and issue Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.
5. Facilitate the transition of vendor management responsibilities to Operations upon issuing Purchase Orders or Subcontracts.
6. Develop a comprehensive vendor database for structural steel fabrication, piping fabrication, engineered equipment, and various commodities.
7. Establish strategic partnerships with key Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), supply houses, and fabricators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction procurement.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting structural or mechanical construction drawings.
- Strong contract negotiation skills and ability to analyze vendor proposals to meet RFP requirements independently.
- Proven track record in soliciting and interpreting supplier proposals against construction specifications.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) is required; experience with Procore, InEight, WinEST, or On Screen Takeoff estimating software is advantageous.
- Relevant licenses and certifications are beneficial.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams or independently.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
