Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Associate or Senior Associate Athletics Director - DEI and Student-Athlete Development. This key leadership position will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Department of Athletics' diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, as well as student-athlete development programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy for the Department of Athletics, aligning with the university's mission and values.
  • Oversee the development and execution of student-athlete development programs, including leadership, service, professional, and personal development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the University's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to provide training and resources for coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to enhance student-athlete development and DEI initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to student-athletes on career development, graduate school admissions, and community service opportunities.
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other administrative tasks related to DEI and student-athlete development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience leading DEI programs in a college setting is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
