Job Title: Head Boys Track Coach

Albuquerque Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head Boys Track Coach to lead our track and field program. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary to achieve individual and team success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage the track and field program, ensuring compliance with school and league policies.
  • Develop and implement rules and regulations for the program, in consultation with the Athletic Director and other stakeholders.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise coaching staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction and support to athletes.
  • Design and deliver coaching clinics, conferences, and staff meetings to promote staff awareness and development.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and school employees to ensure the program runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage equipment, supplies, and facilities, ensuring they are maintained in good condition and meet the needs of the program.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for athlete eligibility, discipline, and safety.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to schedule and coordinate events, including tournaments and special sport events.
  • Promote the program through recruitment, marketing, and community outreach.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (may be waived).
  • Valid New Mexico Teacher's license (may be waived).
  • Valid New Mexico Coaching license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and coordinate the work of others.
  • Previous successful coaching or competitive experience.
