About the Role

As a Senior Piping Designer at STSI, you will play a crucial role in delivering design and drafting services to our clients and their customers. This position requires a high level of expertise in piping design, PDMS/E3D design, and drafting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interactive Planning and Schedule Development: Participate in interactive planning meetings to help develop schedules and establish major milestones.
  • Client and Project Procedures: Be knowledgeable of client procedures and project procedures, including specifications.
  • Needs List and Schedule Maintenance: Identify and request information in the form of a 'Needs List' to maintain schedule.
  • Design Quality and Progress Monitoring: Utilize 3D model review software (PDMS/E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate the design effort with other engineering disciplines.
  • Design Reviews: Participate in all design reviews for the project.
  • Field Experience and Data Input: Perform field walks, shoot elevations, locate tie points dimensionally, and route pipe through existing facilities. Input field data into the PDMS/E3D model.
  • Laser Scanning and Pipe Routing: Experience with locating tie points in laser scans and routing pipe through existing facilities within the scan and PDMS/E3D.
  • Design Execution in Existing Facilities: Experience with executing projects within existing facilities with lots of obstructions and other design constraints.
Technical and Industry Experience

Required skills and experience include:

  • Piping Design Expertise: Extensive experience in piping design.
  • PDMS/E3D Design and Drafting: PDMS/E3D design and drafting experience.
  • PID Knowledge: Thorough knowledge and understanding of PID's for production design.
  • Piping Isometrics: Ability to provide piping isometrics utilizing PDMS design software.
  • Manhour Estimates: Ability to verify manhour estimates of design for cost control.
  • Discipline Coordination: Coordinates/integrates piping package with other design disciplines.
  • Safety Program Participation: Required safety program and presentation participation.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint is a plus.
