Orthopaedic Care Professional

We are looking for a dedicated Orthopaedic Care Professional to join our Urgent Care Clinic (Orthocare) at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopaedics and/or professional experience in outpatient orthopaedic environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining health by providing quality medical services under the supervision of a Physician through the identification of short-term and long-range patient care issues and recommending options and course of action while implementing physician directives.
This is a full-time, exempt position that requires candidates to be comfortable seeing patients of all ages performing typical urgent care procedures; suturing, wound repair, ortho splinting, casting, etc.
Duties:
- Elicit detailed and accurate patient health history and perform physical examinations; record these along with progress notes in the patient's charts.
- Determine abnormal conditions by ordering diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and basic laboratory studies and interpret test results.
- Formulate initial diagnoses, therapeutic plans, and treatments.
- Provide fracture care including reductions, operative vs. non-operative care, splint, suture, and staple applications/removals.
- Perform routine therapeutic procedures such as intramuscular injections, immunizations, wound care, joint aspirations, joint injections, and incision and drainage of superficial infections.
- Answer all patients' phone calls regarding the clinic. Triage as appropriate.
- Complete all forms and required paperwork.
- Facilitate referrals when needed.
- Perform as first or second surgical assist during operations.
- Round at hospitals as required by Physicians.
- Comply with Federal, State, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by obtaining required CMEs, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Respect and protect the confidentiality of all patient and Company information through adherence to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Assume other duties as requested by Physicians.
The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive estimated salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
