Position Overview:

Colony Tire Corporation is actively looking for a Commercial Vehicle Tire Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role involves the maintenance and replacement of tires on commercial vehicles, both at our facility and on-site for customers.


Key Responsibilities:

This position entails:

  • Executing tire repairs and replacements for commercial vehicles.
  • Responding to emergency road service calls during off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A valid driver's license suitable for the required vehicle type.
  • The ability to meet commercial driver qualification standards.
  • A proactive approach and extensive knowledge of tire services.

Essential Duties:

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting tires and wheels following established protocols.
  • Assessing tire conditions to determine repairability.
  • Documenting work accurately and promptly.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools to unbolt and re-bolt wheels.
  • Mounting and dismounting tires on various rim types.
  • Balancing wheels using appropriate machinery.
  • Replacing valve stems and removing foreign objects from tires.
  • Safely maneuvering vehicles in and out of the shop.

Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to monitor equipment operations effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and climbing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.

Work Environment:

This role involves exposure to:

  • Moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
  • High noise levels typical of a workshop environment.
  • Physical demands, including lifting heavy objects.
