Job Summary

The J. M. Smucker Company is seeking a skilled Automation Controls Specialist to join our team. As an Automation Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for providing automation support to the facility in the electrical, instrumentation, and controls disciplines. This includes working with electrical and mechanical maintenance, operations, safety, and QA personnel to help deliver the site's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design of automation control systems, including review of specifications and standard practices
- Installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software
- Troubleshooting and elimination of control systems issues and handling controls projects
- Extending start-up support and training for control and monitoring systems
- Creating system map layouts, sequence of operations, drawing packages, PLC logic, and HMI screens

Requirements

- 1-3 years of industry experience working for a manufacturing company that includes electrical troubleshooting
- ~1-3 years of electrical experience in manufacturing
- ~Knowledge of System Architecture, including non-standard material, control panel power requirements, and/or distribution
- ~Ability to work with Allen Bradley logic software platforms

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Robotics experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
