Overview

The Dartmouth Hitchcock Workforce Readiness Institute (DHWRI) offers a unique Medical Assistant Apprenticeship training program in Lebanon, NH. This paid and benefitted full-time position combines on-the-job learning with structured technical instruction, allowing apprentices to "earn while they learn."

Program Details

The 12-week accelerated learning program is delivered in partnership with Colby-Sawyer College. Upon completion, apprentices sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association. Following the exam, apprentices move into a Dartmouth Health clinic to complete their 2,000-hour Registered Apprenticeship through the US Department of Labor.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a valued member of the clinic care team. Your responsibilities will include clinical duties such as taking vital signs, giving injections, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this program, you must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent by the end of the 12-week training program. You must also have an area of interest in LNA/MA and be willing to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
