A Maintenance Specialist at American Woodmark is responsible for ensuring the satisfactory upkeep of plant tools, equipment, and machinery. This role is critical to the success of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Complete paperwork, reports, work orders, and audits in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Perform maintenance functions safely using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and various machines, including a scissor lift and fork truck.
- Use test equipment such as a multi-meter, oscilloscope, and pressure gauges to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities and identify opportunities for improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Communicate progress, updates, and concerns to appropriate parties in a timely and effective manner.
- Navigate, utilize, and create various software and machine programs, including CNC, to optimize production processes.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment through the timely completion of projects, respectful communication, teamwork, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
- Ensure a safe work environment, including housekeeping, to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to apply wiring schematics and diagrams, layout drawings, and PLC ladder logic.
- Ability to make quality judgments and prioritize responsibilities to minimize plant downtime.
- Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, climb, and perform various duties from a ladder at various heights.
- Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lb.
