Lead Internal Audit Specialist

The Lead Internal Audit Specialist plays a crucial role in conducting comprehensive audits of operational, financial, and clinical activities from initiation to conclusion, under the guidance of the Director of Internal Audit. This position involves performing targeted reviews and investigations of operations as needed. The specialist will oversee project assignments and timelines to guarantee the prompt and effective completion of designated projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute audit procedures, which include identifying and defining issues, establishing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and crafting process narratives and documentation for control design, implementation, and operational effectiveness.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of the assigned audit business operations, processes, and objectives, and apply that knowledge to the audits undertaken.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of internal audit experience, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Advanced technical skills and experience in conducting complex financial and operational audits.
- Expertise in general audit methodologies and the creation of essential internal audit deliverables, such as process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with extensive experience in developing and presenting audit reports.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to assess situations and adjust behavior to foster and maintain excellent customer relationships.
- A Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or business administration.
Certifications:
- Certification or active pursuit of professional credentials, including but not limited to Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Health Care Internal Auditor Professional (CHIAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with computer-assisted audit software such as Visio, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Diligent (formerly ACL).
Compensation: The base salary ranges from $90,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.
