We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technician to join our team at King's Daughters, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care.

Job Summary: As a Medical Technician, you will work under the supervision of our Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to deliver top-notch patient care, perform various tasks, and respond to emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses with non-nursing tasks, such as crash cart checks, quality control checks, and equipment management.
  • Conduct routine patient care, including vital signs, intake/output, pain level assessment, and administering enemas, under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Recognize and practice within your scope of certification and competency levels, and report any concerns or questions to the supervising team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and the care team through shift-to-shift and transfer reports, and document information in EPIC as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and urgent situations, such as ERT calls, and transport patients per protocol.

Education and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School diploma or GED, completion of an approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, active State of Kentucky or National Registry EMT certification, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification.

Working Environment: As a Medical Technician, you will be working in a dynamic environment with constant exposure to blood and/or body fluids and infection, occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands: This role requires occasional stationary positions, frequent walking and movement, and constant communication with patients and the care team.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 per year, based on national averages and location.
