About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing firmware for real-time embedded systems, implementing digital signal processing algorithms, and integrating embedded systems with EW payloads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop firmware for real-time embedded systems using VHDL or Verilog
  • Implement digital signal processing algorithms for various types of communication, data link, radar, and jamming signals
  • Integrate embedded systems with EW payloads
  • Apply Machine Learning (ML)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms for EW applications
  • Participate in field testing and demonstration of these products
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least two years of relevant experience with VHDL or Verilog, FPGA simulation, and MATLAB
  • Relevant experience working with embedded systems and embedded programming
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • At least seven years of relevant experience working with embedded systems and embedded programming
  • Experience implementing DSP algorithms in HDL, HLS, and/or System Generator
  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python
  • Experience with high-speed FPGA design
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms
  • RADAR, electronic warfare, or radio frequency experience
  • Hold an active DoD Secret level clearance
